Our Vision
We envision a world where sustainable living practices are deeply rooted in community life, where people of all ages are equipped with the knowledge and skills to live in harmony with the environment. In this future, our local community serves as a model for others, demonstrating how reconnecting with our food sources, embracing offline skills, and fostering face-to-face connections can create resilient, thriving neighborhoods. The Klemo Foundation aims to be a catalyst for this transformation, nurturing a generation that values both technological progress and the timeless wisdom of sustainable, grounded living.
Klemo Foundation is located on a 2.5-acre property where late artist James Klemo’s sculptures and dwellings intertwine with the natural environment. This garden is a territory for experimentation, and moratorium for a world in a state of incessant disruption and distraction.
Here, you step away from the constant intensification of neural stimulation and create counter-culture. This is where youth can question the socio economic beliefs that this technological society is advancing. We have a responsibility to our youth that they understand the historical residue that is still ever present, we are a society that is trying to overcome oppression, cohesion, and decentralization.
We seek to build a farm in conjunction with the artist’s work on the land, to grow food, to feed people and be one with nature. Klemo Foundation is composed of farmers, gardeners, artists, craftspeople, educators and entrepreneurs with experience in grass- roots organizing and regenerative farming. We rely on our knowledge of specialty crop growing, rules and laws of horticulture, and nursery management to fulfill our mission. This is a space for land Art, sculpture, performance, and agriculture. We will be cooking, gardening, providing CSA boxes, offering horticulture classes, art classes, critical thinking, and hosting visiting lecturers.
Your support and involvement does not go unnoticed, and we invite you to be part of this as we grow.
